Liquors 101: The Basics

Liquors / Distilled Beverage / Spirit is a beverage produced by distilling the product produced by alcoholic fermentation. It makes the product much more concentrated therefore in alcohol or ABV (Alcohol by volume).


Poplar Kinds

Brandy - produced by distilling wine





Vodka - distilled fermented grains and potatoes





Gin - redistillation of spirits with juniper berries





Tequila - distilled fermented blue agave plant juice





Whisky - distilled fermented grain mash




Rum - distilled fermented sugarcane / sugarcane byproducts
