The Cosmopolitan

The Cosmopolitan, a cocktail that ladies love, is one of the most popular cocktails that has been around for years. Often called "Cosmo", it has been popularized by feautures in hit TV series Sex and the City. Common ingredients are vodka, cranberry juice, cointreau / triple sec and lime juice. Originally, vodka citron in particular is used in traditional Cosmos. Serving it in a martini glass with no ice is a standard although it is not a martini.

The Recipe

The Recipe of Cosmopolitan is not of many variations. Standard Recipe is as follows:

4 parts Vodka / Vodka Citron

1.5 parts Cointreau / Triple Sec

1.5 parts Cranberry Juice

3 parts Lime Juice

Instructions: Add all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain in a martini glass. Product must be bright pink with mild foam. Garnish with lime wheel or lemon wheel
